0580: The Circle of Compassion for All Beings

Facilitated by Rev. Betsy Stang, The Wittenberg Center.

In honor of the visits to Washington DC at this time of HH Dalai Lama, the Manifestation of Compassion for Tibetan Buddhism ,and of Arvol Lookinghorse, the 19th Keeper of the sacred white buffalo calf pipe of the Lakota Nation, the pipe of peace.

We live in a time that has moved far from peace and compassion. All over the world, peoples, animals and ecosystems are suffering and dying. We are asked, as brothers and sisters of many traditions, to come together with one heart, one mind, one voice, and bring forth from our rich traditions the song of compassionate healing.

In this circle, the participants of different faiths and traditions will be asked to give a short prayer, song, or chant for all beings, all our relations. Together we put the imprint of those prayers by the Washington Monument so that the highest ideals of the country and of its amazing abundance may be used for all our relations and all the generations to come.
